Some pieces earn their place slowly. The Whitewashed Terracotta Vase Set of 3 is one of them: a vase defined by a whitewashed brick-red clay finish with the gentle irregularity of hand-thrown pottery, made to sit in a space you already love rather than take it over.

Underneath the styling is honest making. The body is terracotta clay with whitewash glaze, finished to stand up to daily handling rather than occasional display. Set of 3 vases, and each one is inspected and packed with care before dispatch.

Made for mantels, shelves and rustic table settings, it moves happily between rooms as your space evolves. Cleaning is simple - a soft dry cloth, no abrasives - and it arrives protected in its box, ready to use or to hand over as a present. Full specifications are listed below, so you can check the details before ordering rather than after. Part of the Luma Living range of everyday home pieces, selected for how they actually live in a room rather than how they look in a catalogue. We keep the Luma Living collection deliberately tight, so everything here is something we would put in our own homes. It sits comfortably alongside the rest of the Luma Living collection if you are building a look one piece at a time.

  • Material: terracotta clay with whitewash glaze
  • Included: Set of 3 vases
  • Best for: mantels, shelves and rustic table settings
  • Style: Rustic Farmhouse Clay Vases
  • Care: wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth

Clay with the marks left in

The small irregularities are what make these feel handmade. Nothing about them is machine perfect, and that is the appeal.

Whitewashed Terracotta Vase Set lifestyle 2

Whitewash over warm terracotta

White wash over brick red clay gives a warmth that plain white ceramic never manages. It suits farmhouse and modern rooms equally.

Frequently asked questions

Are the vases identical to each other?

No, and that is deliberate. Three different profiles are made to be grouped, and each carries the small variations of hand finishing.

What stems suit terracotta best?

Dried grasses, wheat, eucalyptus and anything with a warm neutral tone. The terracotta underneath makes those colours sing.

Are they suitable for water?

They suit dried arrangements best. For fresh stems, sit a small glass liner inside to keep the clay dry.

Where do they look best?

A mantel, an open shelf, or a dining table centre. They also look lovely on a windowsill where the light picks up the whitewash.

Will the whitewash rub off?

No. The finish is fired onto the clay rather than painted over it, so handling and dusting will not wear it away.
