The Macrame Rope Triangle Wall Shelf is a wall shelf built around a hand-knotted macrame rope cradle that suspends a reclaimed wood board from the wall or ceiling. It is the kind of piece that changes a room quietly, without asking for attention, and it settles in wherever you decide to put it.

Construction is straightforward: reclaimed natural wood and woven cotton rope, finished carefully and put together to last. Single shelf with rope hanger. Because natural materials vary slightly from batch to batch, no two pieces are ever quite identical, which is part of the appeal.

Most people use theirs for plants, candles and small framed prints, and it suits a mix of interiors from minimalist to warm and layered. Dust with a soft dry cloth, avoid abrasive cleaners, and it will keep looking as good as the day it arrived. It also makes a genuinely usable housewarming gift. Part of the Luma Living range of everyday home pieces, selected for how they actually live in a room rather than how they look in a catalogue. We keep the Luma Living collection deliberately tight, so everything here is something we would put in our own homes. It sits comfortably alongside the rest of the Luma Living collection if you are building a look one piece at a time.

  • Material: reclaimed natural wood and woven cotton rope
  • Included: Single shelf with rope hanger
  • Best for: plants, candles and small framed prints
  • Style: Reclaimed Wood, Boho Floating Hanging Shelf
  • Care: wipe clean with a soft, dry cloth

Dimensions and care

Materials

Reclaimed natural wood and woven cotton rope. Colour, tone and finish vary slightly from piece to piece — that is the material, not a fault.

In the box

Single shelf with rope hanger.

Care

  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth and keep the wood out of direct steam.
  • Fix it with fittings rated for your wall type — the fixings supplied are generic and are not suitable for plasterboard, tile or hollow walls.
  • Check for concealed cables and pipes before drilling, and keep the load balanced across the shelf.

Macrame Rope Triangle Wall Shelf lifestyle 1

Softness on a hard wall

Rope brings warmth to a corner that bare shelving never does. It softens the line of a wall while still doing the job of a shelf.

Macrame Rope Triangle Wall Shelf lifestyle 2

Knotted by hand, not machine

Every cradle is knotted by hand, so the weave sits slightly differently on each one. That is the point, and it is why it looks made rather than manufactured.

Wood with a history

The board is reclaimed timber with its own grain and colour. Luma Living leaves it honest, so the marks it already carries stay part of the piece.

Frequently asked questions

How much can the shelf actually hold?

It is sized for the things you want on show: a few books, a small trailing plant, a candle, a framed photo. Keep the weight balanced across the board and it sits beautifully.

Where does this look best in a home?

It works anywhere you want to soften a hard wall. Hallways, above a bed, beside a desk, or in a bathroom for folded towels and a plant.

Does the rope stretch over time?

The macrame is knotted tight and settles into its shape within the first few days. After that it holds steady, and a gentle tug on the knots is all it ever needs.

How do I hang it?

It suspends from a single secure fixing in the wall or ceiling, so you are drilling one hole rather than levelling brackets. Choose a fixing rated for the wall type you have.

How do I keep the wood looking good?

Dust the board with a dry cloth and keep it out of direct steam. Reclaimed wood likes being left alone, which makes it very easy to live with.
